Hilarious or blasphemous

Too stupid to even bother attending But then I saw George Burns in a similar flick and that was probably enough (that was humerous)

Don't forget - when SEABISCUIT comes out, July 25th, y'all have to go and see it! They filmed some of the movie at Santa Anita, and I'm in the crowd. See if you can either spot me (unlikely) or hear me (much more likely) during the final scenes of the movie!

Funny - not hilarious.

I'll tell you what I really enjoyed -- renting the DVD The Recruit with Al Pacino. It was awesome!!!

I agree with Mary Beth - there were a couple of really funny scenes. I did enjoy the scene with Juan Valdez - that cracked me up.

I have mixed feelings about the theological aspect. On the one hand, I like the fact that the film conveys the message that prayer is normal and that God hears and answers our prayers. On the other hand, I don't like the fact that the film portrays God as someone willing to abdicate his role for a vacation. That is not the God I worship. Overall, I think the bad theology of this movie (and I do recognize that it was not made to be a theological movie) outweighs the good. There are some very insightful comments in this review. Films portraying a message about God that I liked a lot better include Joshua (2002), Time Changer (2002), and A Walk to Remember (2002). Also, the movie The Climb (2002) looks like an excellent choice, but I haven't seen it yet.
