I am trying to psych myself up to do a half marathon, but the thought of the long and many practice runs make me cringe. I am more a 5K or 5 miler. I have done a few mini-triathlons

I LOVE to run. I have ran 5K's and tried a 10K once, but it got so hot I almost fainted. Let me know if you make your marathon mark. We have a run in San Fran called the Bay-to-Breakers. It is a run more for show. Everyone dress's up, but I want to run it just to see if I can make the famous uphill run. There is a hill in this run that I hear is WOW. Someday...Someday!

I play darts in a local league, and I also have quite the talent for drinking good bourbon. On occasion, I have discovered that the two activities are best kept separate! (Who decided it was a good idea to give sharp, pointy objects to people in BARS?!!!)

Additionally, I can pour concrete and tow other vehicles with my Durango.

Oh, I know, I know . . . college administrators. It's a quite common thing at Frat Houses and dormitories. Generally they substitute beer for the bourbon though.

A few years ago a co-worker and I were in San Francisco for training and came a couple days early to stay the Saturday night to get cheap airfare. We were staying in SF north of where the route for this run is and planned to go south the morning of the run (we were unaware of this event). Every way we tried to go, they had the roads blocked off and we didn't know why. We eventually found an elevated hwy that crossed the race and allowed us to go on our way down to Pebble Beach. Seeing all those folks in costumes though was quite the sight!

I'm pretty good at counted cross stitch, can knit afghans (everybody in my family has one), but haven't tried to knit anything else. I also volunteer with a dog rescue group. I adopted my most recent foster dog, who is deaf, so am starting to learn enough sign language to be able to communicate with him.

Just curious, but how does one discover this talent? You just happen to have a cherry stem in your mouth one day that had to be tied in a knot?

At a recent internal training session, the "get-to-know-you" exercise was to tape a sheet of paper on the back of each participant, walk around, and have the other participants write a brief, positive thought about that person, i.e. things like "professional", "courteous", "good sense of humor", "always friendly", etc. The bearer would then have a list of their postive traits as perceived by the group to focus on for the session. When I took the sheet off of my back... I discovered my true life "talent". Someone had written: "Knows how to calculate escrow". Long live RESPA.

You are my hero! You may be the most talented poster today.
My only "talent" is being able to touch my nose with my tongue. Is that actually a talent?

To TinaSweet: That's a HALF marathon! The farthest race I have run has been a 15K (9.3 miles) in Tampa, FL. IF (big if) I try a half marathon, it will be late Sept in Appleton, WI or January in Tampa. I just bought the book "Marathons for Mortals" by John "The Penguin" Bingham for inspiration and training tips.

To IFISH2: Is that a Musky you are holding in your photo?

WOW, This would be the first time I've run across another dart player. However, here in Ohio we play mostly plastic tip. (They don't tend to have the same propensity towards injury that steel does!) Ever been to Chicago for the Bullshooters tournament?

Many years back, I was an ametaur pro bowler. And my husband and I own a bar. Although I'm probably just one of the funniest bartenders you'd ever have the mis-fortune to run across.

Don, this is a talent that is discovered 99% of the time in a group...with beer or wine involved. As the topics go down hill, and the liqour runs low....this talent contest comes up frequently you're in serious trouble if you are so good at it you know which stems to pick

I can do it too heh heh

Oo, oo, I can do that too! Started in my early 20's when I would get a cherry in one of the foo foo drinks I would order. Everyone would challenge everyone else to see who could tie that cherry stem with their tongue the fastest.

I can bench press 255 lbs!

I've bowled my highest game of 200!

In college, I was a DJ playing the best songs of the 80's when they were fresh, and in the summers I was a lifeguard!

I am also awesome on the grill. (You have to be if you're from Texas)

Marriage seminar

MEN !!!!
While attending a marriage seminar on communication,
David and his wife listened to the instructor
declare, “It is essential that husbands and wives
know the things that are important to each other.”

He addressed the man, “Can you describe your wife’s
favorite flower?”

David leaned over, touched his wife’s arm gently and
whispered, “Pillsbury All-Purpose, isn’t it?”

Well, lets see...I have sky dived, love white water kayaking, parasailing, just about any outdoor activity. I have played hockey, volley ball, and ran track in my younger days! These days, my hobbies are jumping in mud puddles with my daughter and teaching her to "skim" board at the beach!
