Can anyone suggest a good book to get my sister for Christmas. She's in her late 20's and loves to read. She's read almost everything I can think of and I need some fresh new ideas.
Thanks for the help.

Its a series of books- small village and people- a pastor of the village is the main character and the books are about the village people too. The books are really good. You laugh, you cry and you get somepeace reading them.

The Sue Grafton alphabet series is pretty god. I think she is up to R.

My sister-in-law loves to read and I have just given her book store gift cards in the past. I like to read, too, and figured I would rather have a gift card than have someone pick out a book for me. Just a thought.

I agree with the gift card to Barnes & Noble.

I just finished up mine from my birthday, and everytime I used it it felt like I got another present!

Any book by Mauve Binchey (I probably spelled her name wrong). She's an Irish author. I've read above five of her books and they are all good. One of her first was "Tara Road",

Oh, well - I can't really help much then. Everything else I've read lately pales horribly in comparison with the glory of Edward.

If you go with the giftcard she'll at least be ready and waiting for Breaking Dawn come next August. And at least we'll have The Host in May to help tide us over. It's not Edward...but I suppose it will do in the meantime.

And then there's the movie coming out next December. So many things to look forward to. I could always get her a twilight tee.

I like the Alice one that says "Wanna Bet?" and the sparkly one that says "Vampires are forever"

Will the movie be out that quickly? They've only just started casting.

ETA: OH! I know, I know - you could get her Bella's bracelet! They're selling them now on the same website that does the tshirts. The heart is a Swarovski crystal and the wolf is copper.

On the movie website it says release date Dec. 12th 2008.
I would get her the bracelet, but she didn't act too impressed with it when I showed it to her.

If she likes chick lit, Good Grief is a good one. Or the Jennifer Wienner books. Another good one was Sister Chicks Do The Hula. Did I spell that right? Looks funny

Another series of books that are good are the Robert (Ithink that is the first name) Kincaide. Sort of like the Jan Karon books.

I like the idea of a gift card then she could pick out the book(s) she would like to read.

It looks A-ok to me Riz

I heartily agree. A gift card for B&N is always at the top of my wish list.
