Can the same EIN be used for foundations with 2 different names? For example, can EIN for "The Mark & Mary Foundation", also be used for "Mark's Dream Foundation", when the owner is the same?
Not to my knowledge-one EIN for entity. Maybe one is like used like a trade name? Ask for a copy of the letter of determination to see exactly how the EIN was issued.
