Here and Now
I am reviewing this process and I am wondering how other banks process exceptions or proof items when using a branch capture system. i.e. does the person who reviews the exceptions scan correcting items or should there be a segregation between correcting exceptions and processing corrections. Also if correcting items are scanned as opposed to being processed through a teller, is there a transaction journal?

We do branch capture and transmit to our data center, right now the "proof dept" does all the scaning and correcting before sending the file. I am looking for policy and proceedures on this also. Segregation of duties, audit trail etc??? If anyone out there has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated!
