Don't take this the wrong way, but shouldn't the family take some responsibility for not saying something right away? Why did they wait until the next day to notify authorities that she was in the car?

I'm guessing that the family didn't realize right away that she hadn't been located along with her son. As to Jolly's original question, the only explanation given by the article for how her body was overlooked is that she was obscured by the airbag.
