One of our branches had a returned item marked "UTL". The check was by a maker that was familiar, as the customer had deposited similar items in the past. In looking at past deposits, our employee found the account number to be one digit off, so they placed a correction tape over the account number and encoded with the account that had been paid in the past.
Anyone out there think that I don't have to worry about this for the next year? Ugh!
