This is what happened to my brother 17 years ago. He lost circulation from diabetes and was on dialysis. He reached a point where he had to decide to stop the dialysis and they just focused on making his last days as comfortable as possible. I truly do know what you are going through DQ and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Soon your father will be at peace and free from pain. If there is anything I can do for you other than pray, please let me know.

Thanks everyone, it is so comforting to know that I have friends at this time. He passed last night at 10:00 PM, only 7 hours after admission to hospice, he was ready for his Lord. Thanks. My Mom is hanging by a fine thread... this BOL thread has helped me tremendously, although it makes me cry when I read through it. I, my man and my son will be there for her: my mom. We thought it should be easier knowing he is no longer suffering, somehow, the ease did not come.

I am so sorry for your loss DQ, nothing can prepare you for the loss of a loved one. It sounds like he was ready, and I'm sure that he's in a better place. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

(((((Maria))))) I am so sorry. Like you said, although you know he is no longer in pain, it certainly doesn't make this easier on those he left behind. Now you have a special angel watching over you. Please know we are thinking of you and if there is anything we can do (a shoulder to lean on) don't be afraid to say so.
