I just read that this morning, that is so great for her! Maybe we'll get lots of new pasta recipes over the next couple of months.

Is anyone watching The Next Iron Chef? My hubby and I love Iron Chef, and have been watching this new series. We're thinking that John Besh is going to win...any thoughts?

Your friend or Besh?

I'm not sure which one I think should win. Besh is classier and has more experience. The other guy seems better at experimenting and going out on a limb. His drinks would do well in Iron Chef competition.

Your friend is a tool? I guess since you said "kind of" that's ok.

I like Chef Besh and Chef Symon, but I think Besh will really round out the Iron Chef group. Symon has the same Greek background just like Chef Cora, but Chef Besh has that whole French/New Orleans vibe.

Ok, is anyone else still watching the Food Network? I still enjoy watching several shows, though I haven't really cooked much lately.

How about the Gourmet Next Store? I didn't think I would like Amy's show, but it's not too bad.

I just saw an episode of Iron Chef with him the other day.

I was a little sad to see Emeril go, but he has a long run.

I still watch. I enjoy the Barefoot Contessa, Paula and sometimes I can even handle Giada.

I love to watch Paula Deen. She is so southern it cracks me up. And the recipes that Giada has on her show usually turn out pretty well if you try them at home.

I agree, I've tried several of Giada's recipes and been very pleased.

Oh sure, that sounds great in theory.

But when you break it down and realize it's all poop, then how cool is it?

Well, we all have to eat Peepers, we may as well enjoy it.

Has anyone tried Giada's lemon pasta? I want to try it, but I am also a little scared. LOL

I haven't tried that one, but I've been very pleased with all of her recipes I've tried so far. I wouldn't be scared.

There are a few recipes that I would really like to try, most of them are from Alton Brown and Giada.

I can only take so much Alton Brown and his cast of characters. He does give some interesting info, but his shows are a little over the top.

But because of the Food Network, I know what an "amuse bouche" is - and it's so fun to go to a restaurant that has them!!

I like the Fine Living Channel. It's a little cooking, a little travel, a little shopping. I find it very relaxing.

Alton Brown does have a crazy cast of characters, but I've learned to look past the cheesy and get to the recipes. My husband loves Alton and his scientific approach to food. As long as it gets him cooking...I'm good!

Giada has recipes? I've watched the show a few times, and I can honestly say I've never paid attention to what she was cooking!

I love Rachel Ray's recipes, and listening to the older southern woman who's name is escaping me cook!

Yes Giada has recipes, and some of them are pretty good. I haven't tried any of Rachel's recipes, but I do enjoy her show sometimes.

I think you're probably talking about Paula Dean, she is very Southern and loves butter. LOL

Paula Dean definitely does NOT do light cooking! I use her Mamas Divinity recipe every Christmas. It is wonderful.
