Regs for other industries

Wouldn't you love to see other industries share our regulatory burden? I often think of parallels while injesting the latest reg change.
Here is one, maybe others can think of more:
"Truth-in-Rending" - applies to all meat handlers, including operating doctors and surgeons- "those who cut the flesh" - This is a consumer law so the consumer may determine who has the most unkindest cut of all. The right of recision only applies to those dealing with "live meat" as surgeaons, veterinarians, etc... Subsequent events such as preservatives, etc.. must be disclosed by the retailer.

My brother-in-law is a nuclear engineer. His job is to 'audit' nuclear power plants for compliance with federal nuclear power plant regulations and help the plant operators prepare for NRC 'exams'. Sound familiar? I always thought his job was an interesting parallel to my job as bank compliance officer. But, his pays a lot more! As it should.

Well I would hate to be in the pharmaceutical industry. How would you like to advertise your product, but have to disclose that it may cause nose bleeds, cramps, muscle spasms, cancer and death. But buy it, this only happened to a few people!

Andy, that one made me smile. I saw some allergy remedy commercial, sounded really good, I even thought that I might ask about that one. Then came the verbal disclaimer "may cause nose bleeds, cramps, muscle spasms, diarhea, constipation, etc." and I figured a little sneezy, runny nose isn't so bad after all.

Here's another that was on birth control pills: Do not take if pregnant. On my son's allergy pills: Take by mouth.
