What can be done about spam on a home computer?
I get daily emails about "those" drugs. The sender is always different so blocking sender doesn't stop the messages. For a while I was forwarding these to spam@uce.gov.
Is my only option limited to deleting these? I'd sure like to get rid of them.

Norton Internet protection is pretty good at sending spam to the spam box instead of the inbox. you have to look at it to ensure that it is all spam, but usually pretty good.

Also, you can ask whoever is providing your internet to up the filters for your account too.
That's usually free. The only problem with filters is that instead of saying Cialis, they type C*I*A* LIS or instead of Viagra, Vi@gra, instead of "Sexually" they type "SExuaally", etc. The advantage of the pay service is that if someone wants to send you mail, they then get a reply email before it gets to you, and have to authenticate that they sent it. Spammers don't.

Dooby, you must be the only person in the free world that doesn't already get "those" e-mails on a daily basis! But I could forward you a couple if you like!

To say her husband was a jerk from the time he left her until the divorce was final would be a huge understatement. My friend was the model of decorum through the whole thing and we were all in awe. Turned out she vented her frustration by spending a couple evenings with her computer. She signed him up for anything that asked for a phone number or address, e-mail or otherwise! She finally admitted it, saying she knew it was petty but it helped her get through the day! I giggle every time I see the word Spam!

Hi PR, yes I'm enjoying retirement. I've found many volunteer and other activities to keep me as busy as I want. Spam is still a problem but I'm just deleting the one or two a day I get, rather than worrying about it
I still look at BOL, but only to do a quick browse. It's awfully hard for me to let go after so many years in this area.
