Apparently this happened on Friday.
If it has been covered, I apologize for a duplicate post, the Mods can delete if they seem fit.

But was anyone aware of this endorsement?
Does it matter?
Will the conservatives who backed Thompson (on BOL, Sentinel and KMS come to mind) now back McCain?

With or without Thompson's endorsement, it had to be McCain for me. Even with the questions McCain raises, the other remaining options are not feasible, so this is all political theatrics anyway.

Nope. But as far as convincing is concerned, I am convinced that Obama desires to serve and is a gentleman, whereas Clinton is schemimg, machiavellian and power hungry.

I totally agree with that statement. It's too bad his politics are so absolutely wrong for this country.

Are they that wrong though?
I mean, sure he is a complete liberal (why I like him), but he has no problem bucking the system.
Did you hear him say, last night, that the Democratic Party should be in the business of at least looking into the merits of charter schools?

All I need to know is that he stands for turning Iraq into a new Viet Nam, for taxing and spending, and for doing far too many things that stand against free enterprise.

I think Obama has a better chance of working constructively with the Repubs and Independents in Congress than the queen of scheme does.

Obama on trade, from an interview in DC last night,

“Now, some people in the Democratic Party believe that, some people don’t,” Obama said. “What I want to do is try to unify the two wings of the Democratic Party — what’s considered the more progressive wing of the party, what’s considered the more centrist wing of the party. I think that we can craft an approach that is pro-American, pro-worker, pro-business, pro-growth and is not caught up in some of the ideological battles that have consumed us for the last 20 years.”

And as usual, he gives a lot of detail to explain exactly how he's going to accomplish that... oh, nevermind.

This is what I was saying to someone yesterday who said they supported Obama. I asked what exactly does he support him for, and he said he will be a uniter.

I laughed and asked what policies did he like and he repeated that he would be a uniter.

I guess that passes for policy nowadays.

And now, the Democratic presidential campaign theme song (doesn't matter which candidate wins the nomination), courtesy of David Bowie:

Oh yeah
Mm
Still dont know what I was waiting for
And my time was running wild
A million dead-end streets and
Every time I thought Id got it made
It seemed the taste was not so sweet
So I turned myself to face me
But Ive never caught a glimpse
Of how the others must see the faker
Im much too fast to take that test

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
(turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-changes
Dont want to be a richer man
Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
(turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-changes
Just gonna have to be a different man
Time may change me
But I cant trace time

I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence
So the days float through my eyes
But stil the days seem the same
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
Theyre quite aware of what theyre going through

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
(turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-changes
Dont tell them to grow up and out of it
Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
(turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-changes
Wheres your shame
Youve left us up to our necks in it
Time may change me
But you cant trace time

Strange fascination, fascinating me
Ah changes are taking the pace Im going through

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
(turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-changes
Oh, look out you rock n rollers
Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
(turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-changes
Pretty soon now youre gonna get a little older
Time may change me
But I cant trace time
I said that time may change me
But I cant trace time

Please list out for me when he has bucked the system. This man is more mainstream than most politicians. Saying something against your party to get press is hardly bucking the system. Now, if he would actually do what he said, that would be bucking the system.

Anyway, I eagerly await your examples of his buckiness...
