one of our locations is looking into an "buzzer" entry system that would be used during the day. The employees would buzz in customers and I would presume not allow entry to others. Does this seem discriminatory to anyone. I believe banks are agents of the govt and I don't think we can do that. No other banks that I have encountered have this sort of set up. Any thoughts???

You probably need to move this to a private/secure forum.

We have that in our main office. The CSR's or tellers can buzz customers in. Once, masked robbers attempted to pull on the doors and were refused entry, of course, so it is a deterrent. Discrimination is not an issue.

At a bank I once worked at we had a branch downtown. It was not a safe place for 3 women to work without some type of protection. We did the buzzer thing and never recieved complaints. The customers felt safe once inside that they would not be a victim of a robbery.

We had a local bank branch around here getting hit once every two to three months, before they went to the buzzer system. For them it has been a success as employees and customers alike are happy with it.

My understandign is that they are also starting to see increased traffic again because the branch is now percieved to be safe once again.
