Got the weather radio on and waiting!!! Hope we don't have to go into the vault again. It's very small and HOT!!!

I voluteer to enter the vault last.

We've got quite a crew heading south to north right now...I'm glad I'm not one of them!

We were supposed to be hit with 50 MPH winds and hail at 10:55. We received heavy rain and lots of wind, thunder that shook the buildings and rattled the windows. Its still lightening pretty badly.

I think your area is now under a tornado watch now. They've just issued a new watch area.

The rain appears to have stopped for now and there is not wind. Still a bit of thunder. We'll just have to wait for the next rain band to pass thru.

It should be hitting Joker pretty hard right now or either its the calm between the storm fronts. The second one just went thru here. I thought I had managed to go to lunch and return before the 2nd one came thru, but NO - about 1 min from the bank-the skies opened. Bracing for those 35 degree temps with wind chill in the 20's for tonight.

It's getting hazy here with random gusts, but it looks like there is a break in the wave with the worst of it is going north and south of Savannah.

Hopefully, we're though with the storms. Now for the cold weather.

We're getting the second line now - the first one spawned four tornadoes that we know of so far.

Lots of damage near my home...I think my damage was limited to the tar paper on the new roof protecting my gold-laced hay literally disappearing...gone...nowhere to be spotted. A friend down the road..one of her run-in buildings is leveled. The park is leveled...roofs gone...I can't raise anyone at the branch down that way...I hope that was just the worst of the 2nd line coming thru...a lot or wind and rain...still gotta go thru the southern portion of the county tho...the part that just got torn up.

I'd heard of the tornado in Turner County but didn't know that there'd been more. where were they???

Well carp. It shifted and now one of the the big red sections is headed right for us.

Yep..work in V town, live closer to Lake Park/Clyattville. The 4 were in Clyattville/Lake Park corridor and one in Thomasville as well.

Joker, I came though your area Wednesday afternoon and Sunday night. Went to a gourd show in Palatka FL. If I'd known that's where you were from, I'd have blown the horn at ya!

Were you on I75 any Wednesday afternoon? I have never seen so many GSP and sheriff deputies in my life. They started right before Valdosta and went almost to the FL line. They had people pulled over on both sides, were sitting in the median, and riding the highway. It's a good thing it wasn't my turn to drive because I would probably have been one of those over on the side of the road!

Drug crackdown = Lowndes County. It was sometime around then they had made some huge ones on I75, it was a joint effort between several counties, actually. And the cars/suv's now come in all shapes, colors and sizes...you might be amazed at how many MORE were out there than you actually saw.

That may have been why the traffic thinned so suddenly at the FL line. We were expecting the same thing Sunday night, but they weren't there, thank goodness, since I was driving.

I knew that Lowndes and other counties along I75 checked for drugs a lot, but I never knew it was in such vast numbers. We were in a full-size pickup with the back loaded to the hilt pulling a cargo trailer. Guess they don't bother pulling them over when they have gray-headed older women in the cab.

Oh you would be SO surprised...so many of the vehicles I see pulled over and being gone thru by the dogs ARE grey-haired older ladies! Used to blow my mind, until I started actually seeing the articles on busts made in the "older" age group along the corridor. LOL!

We have what is called an "ICE" Team here...they have gone and trained other law enf agencies all over the country. Even the city now has a "HEAT" specialized team. (highway enforcement action team, or something like that). I think ICE stands for Interstate Contraband Enforcement...

Well, last year when I went to AZ I got "selected" to be body searched along with my carry on bags. Guess I fit the profile. I just laughed when they opened by bag and found my new $200 woodburner, gourd saw, and several kinds of neat seed pods. I had to explain that the equipment only works on house current and weren't dangerous on the plane. They just looked at the seed pods without saying anything. At least there was a senior person there. He just laughed and told me they were through checking my things.

Sometimes you just have to use a little common sense.

When my husband and I were driving to SC on Friday the 15th I saw someone pulled over on I-16 and a dog was sniffing through their trunk. I'd never seen that before. Yes, I've lead a sheltered life.
