I saw this headline on CNN.com today. I'm just curious, how many of you have cut back on your amount of driving because of gas prices?

I have cut back on driving because of gas prices.

I heard a reporter ask GW what he thought about gas going up to $4 a gallon. Dubbya said, who told you that? I haven't heard that. Scary.

The reports are saying it will be up over $4 this spring in certain parts of the country. The analyst reports have been out there but I guess GW hadn't read them. Even if he didn't think they were true you would think he would know what is being told to the public.

I talked to my dad, back in Ohio, this morning and gas prices there are about 50 cents to almost a dollar more there than here in Phx. Still, it costs me about $35 to fill my tank every other week.

Gas is $3.19 here. Luckily, my husband and I only live about 1/2 a mile from where he works and 7 miles from where I work. We usually do a lot of driving on the weekends, but we are starting to cut back just to keep from straining the budget.

I spent $49.50 to fill my tank this morning. I paid around $2.90/gallon for unleaded. Gas in my area of the country is usually lower than most places.

Gas went up here too....it ranges from $3.07 to $3.19 now. A week and a half ago it was $2.75. I wish I got a raise as often as gas does.......

Some local stations have discounts on Sunday. Mostly 8 or 9 cents off. I fill up every Sunday, usually around 1/2 tank a week I took a little less than a half tank this week and it ran me $42 @ $3.10/gal.

I paid $3.11 this morning. This hurts along with my 40-mile one-way commute.

My car has really good gas milage, but I've still cut back. My poor bf has a Blazer with a racing engine in it and we have to just park his car.

I recently got a job at a different FI. This has enabled my wife and I to ride to work together as her job is only about a quarter mile from mine. So, although it didn't have to do with the price of gas, we have cut back. Now we actually have to make sure that her car is being driven enough.

Way, way south.
Gas prices here are about $3.39 for the cheap stuff.

Supposedly it costs more to bring gas to my area of the country. Pffft, whatever.

Thank God my car is reasonably good on gas, unlike my old Land Rover with full time four wheel drive and a V-8.

There are several stations, Shell and Chevron, with gas over $4 per gallon. And every quarter, these companies report record profits!

Well then, the government should take them over and share the profits with ALL people!

We're lucky right now, they just opened a Sheetz gas station down the road from the bank I work for and they've kept the prices even lower than low as a grand opening scheme. Filled up at $2.88 Friday and it's only gone up to $2.94. The Texaco station my husband runs is about 30 mins north of here and they are at $3.09. The worst I've seen in my area so far is $3.15. Been meaning to ask my sisters who live just over the Mt. in WVa how much they're paying, it usually runs about $.15-$.20 higher over there.

I bet the state of CA takes a buck or more of that $4
