Can someone tell me how a bank makes a change in the contact for 314a requests? The individual currently receiving them went through his paperwork and did not see instructions on how to make a change.

I read through old posts and nothing specifically addressed this question.

You can contact your primary regulator and ask that they notify FinCEN of the change. You can also note on the Call Report the information on the person who should be receiving the emails. I'm not entirely positive that this is on the Call every quarter - it was last quarter, and the changes we made on it were implemented very quickly. Talk to your call report preparer.

The list of contacts was posted by John Burnett some months ago.

Actually, I found the FAQ on the ABA website (the ones that FINCEN took down.) I posted a response that I found my answer, but I guess I only previewed it and never completed the post!

Just wanted to mention something here: I found that the names I wanted to change our contacts TO have been reported by Finance in the 314a contact section of the call report for several months now, but Fincen had not changed our contact! So, I went ahead and submitted a request to the OCC contact named in the February instructions.

Lesson: I wouldn't count on just putting the new info in the call report as sufficient!

Hmmmm - worked just the opposite for us. You never can tell!
