I am very sorry for your pending loss. We have done this three times, twice with a dog left home. The last time the dogs were together 7 years and the dog left because more subdued for his 6 remaining years.

Even now all three dogs are missed. They have been gone 1 1/2 years, 7 years and 19 years.

Chris, you know the kind of work I do with animals. You know that I understand your pain, and I am so very sorry for you. Please let me know if there is anything you need.

Oh BB, I'm so sorry for your loss today. I just went through this for the very first time in Feb (due to seizures that no medicine would fix) with our 12 year old dane rescue. She blessed us with her presence for 7 wonderful years as I'm sure Kylie has blessed your life as well. My thoughts are with you today.

We're doing well.

A very good friend dedicated a website for Kylie. It's like the myspace for dogs, and I thought it was very cute.

Again, thank you all for your kindness. ♥

When I first moved in with my husband I would get so made at Mandalaye - the basenji. She had free reign and would pull things out of the garbage and shred them up and she would pull smelly clothes around and roll on them. I thought it was awful.

Now, I leave things out for her to pull off and roll on and I find myself giggling when she thinks she's pulled something wonderful out of the garbage and proceeds to shred it. I just pick it up when she's finished.

Weird, huh?

My (california) son and his wife have to make the decision to put their chow mix down soon and it is so hard for her. He has lost 25 % of his weight, even though he is eating. He throws up, and I mean THROWS UP every 5 days, like clockwork and then seems to feel better. Dr is doing blood work to see what organ(s) are not working properly but mostly to make it easier on my dil to let go I think. Sashimi is such a wonderful dog, what a heartbreaking decision to make. I still miss my Buddy and it's been 1 1/2 years.

I know what you mean, corkygirl. We had to put down our sweet pug almost four years ago. I still think about him every single day and miss him like crazy. There will never be another like him!
