We've done music, so what about cars? What's the best classic car of all time and do you own that car?

My vote is for the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible. And, no, I don't own one - they are now going for $50K+!

I learned to drive on a puke green 1965 Rambler. Three speed on the column, no radio, wipers worked if you rolled down the window and gave them a push. But it was my first!

Currently, I drive a 1990 Eagle Talon Turbo. I know it is not right to be materialistic, but I sure love that car. It is just my size!

I vote for the '65 Shelby Cobra even though I was a Mopar muscle car enthusiast in those days.

1976 Ford Pinto. No need for a lighter for smokes-it self ignites. 1973 Chevy Vega-nice rust color, oh wait it is rust. Best car thou has to be to Yugo line.

Or maybe a 69 Chevelle SS with a 302 Vette engine. My friend has one-dark metallic blue. It's a beast.

I would say 2....The 1971 Hemi Cuda convertable (only 7 exist) and the 1963 split rear window vette. No I don't own either. Considering the Cuda goes for about $1 million it's a little out of my range.

Where are the Corvair lovers? It was the only car known to have the engine fall out and pass the driver on the highway.

Dave beat me to it, Grrrr! What about the Javelin? I remember wanting one so bad in high school, it was lavender. My parents decided on the lavender Vega instead, tank of gas (this is the good part-$5.00 and goes for 2 weeks) and can of STP .

1949 Volkswagon Hebmuller. I'd trade a man with a good wine collection for a man with just one of the three ever built. Only 696 Hebs were ever produced, some used for the war effort in Germany as mobile radio antennas. After all, what red blooded american youngster would bomb a volkswagon?

What color Rusty? I would go with red, but I also like the pale yellow very much also. Not sure if that was offered in '67 or '69, but I like it 'em both anyway.

While I love old Mustangs, I am a "truck guy" so mine would be any old (1950's or 60's) Ford Pickup. I just bought a 2003 F-150 Heritage edition pickup black & red. It is a special edition celebrating Ford's 100 year anniversary and is my dream car/truck!

Where are the Corvair lovers?

I loved my 5 speed Corvair. It was one of the few that had factory air conditioning and the system cooling looked like a radiator that sat across the top of the engine. It was interesting to have gas station attendants tell me the water and oil were OK.

Now for you youngsters, there was a time when you pulled into a gas station and an attendant not only pumped the gas but checked the water and oil and even tire pressure for you.

The Corvair had an Air cooled engine hence there was no water level to check.

It had another trait in that it was the car that Ralph Nader made his raise to fame on claiming it was "Unsafe At Any Speed. I actually got a ticket from an LA cop because I was driving 40 on the freeway in the rain and because it was a rear engined car and Ralph's propaganda efforts he considered that two fast due to the car's engine being mounted in the rear of the car, causing less stability.

Any way. I liked it

But my all time favorite was a 1952 Mercury 2 dr cpe. It had a metallic red paint job leather rolled and tucked seats, dual pipes that rapped, It was lowered and chopped had a pair of dice knitted with cashmere thread hanging from the rear-view mirror, and the engine was totally chromed. Ah to be a senior in high school again.

1966 GTO 4 speed Tri Power with a nice throaty rumble.

Don't have one - just really, really want one.

Any trivia buffs out there know what "GTO" stands for?

Bravo Cub Dave! (very close - Turismo)

They just don't name (or make) cars like they used to, eh?
