My children are perfectly happy singing the wheels on the bus go round and round....ad nauseum. I made a CD-R of pop songs that children would like and have made some inroads into getting them to enjoy them. They like "Yellow Submarine," "Barbara Ann," "Octopus's Garden," "Great Ball of Fire" "Peppermint Twist" "Lollipop" and a bunch more. Can you think of pop songs that little kids would like that would not drive mom and dad completely off their rockers?

No, but I can sure think of more kids' songs that drive parents nuts! I occasionally sing them in the car to make my husband bonkers. . .

99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall
1 little, 2 little, 3 little Indians
Oh My Darling, Clementine
You get a line and I'll get a pole
Oo ee oo ah ah, ting tang, walla walla bing bang
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

You have now been infected with an auditory virus. One or more of the songs listed above will play over and over in your head today.

Evanesence- Bring Me to Life (Smart kids )
POD- Youth of the Nation
Jimmy Eat World- The Middle

Where the heart is
And let's not forget...

This is the song that never ends....
Yes it goes on and on my friends,
Some people - started singing it not knowing what it was,
And they'll continue singing it forever just because
This is the song that never ends.....

On the serious side:
Sly and the Family Stone
Carole King - Tapestry
Eagles Greatest Hits
Some stuff from Cream

Add The Veggie Tales Silly Sing Along to the list. I enjoyed the videos when the kids were younger, but now I swear they just play the CD to drive me insane!

I don't know, but "The Bear Went Over The Mountain" is a favorite for our road trips. Another never-ending song!

We are the pirates who don't do anything
We just stay at home and lie around
And if you ask us to do anything
We will tell you... we don't do anything

Well, I never hoist the mainstay
And I never swab the poopdeck
And I never veer to starboard
'Cause I've never sailed at all
And I've never walked the gangplank
And I've never owned a parrot
And I've never been to Boston in the fall!

I could go on all day with the Veggie Tales songs!

I also highly recommend that you get a Veggie Tales cassette or CD. The music is SOOO catchy. It's the kind of stuff that really sticks in your head. It's very fun stuff.

I think my favorites would have to be the Song of the Cebu or The Bunny Song.

Has anyone heard of The Wiggles?
4 guys from Australia, we saw them in concert here, it was great. They sing and dance, and you can't get the songs out of your head.
I consider the videos aerobics with my kids so I get in some excercise.
You should see the looks I get from people as we are singing and dancing (head bobbing, hand movements) in the car. But it is fun!!!

My 14 year old son & 11 year old daughter like Roxanne by the Police. Not the most appropriate subject matter - especially for the 2 year old. It's funny though!

On a recent road trip my daughter asked if we could listen to some of her CDs. I offered a one of yours then one of mine option to which she reluctantly agreed. After about an hour of teen pop remakes, I put in a Beach Boys Greatest Hits CD. Amazingly, when my turn was over she asked to listen to it again. Then she commented that she thought most of those songs were from Alvin and the Chipmunks.

No one's mentioned that loveable Dora the Explorer and the "we did it" song...just kidding. My girls also like the songs from Lilo and Stitch.
