A woman gets home, runs into her house, throws open the door and jubilantly shouts,
"Honey, pack your bags.
I won the lottery."

The wife says, "Wow! That's great! Should I pack for the ocean, or should I pack for the mountains?

She says, "I don't care.
Just get the heck out."

I just changed the joke, in light of the new CA Supreme Court ruling.

I just like to say, "I don't get it" whenever "The Joke" is posted. You have to imagine it in Curly Howard's voice, though to get the full effect.

"Hey Moe, Hey Larry, I don't get it." <nyuk, nyuk, nyuk>

I just posted it as the preface to the article.

I wanted to start a "discussion."

Personally, it doesn't bother me all that much. A few years ago it might have, but I've mellowed out in my old age. I've also met and become acquainted with more folks who are gay and have found that they're not any different than me.

I hear that some people are renewing their efforts for a Constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriages, but I don't think they'll get too far. Their time for striking has passed them by. Same-sex marriages have too much momentum now.

Well alright then.....

Why does the significant other assume that they are going on vacation because the other has won the lottery?

I would think the prudent thing to do would be to seek some investment advice first.

Personally, I would then purchase a mansion with multiple HDTVs and a fleet of sweet vehicles.

The last thing I would want to do is tell my wife to get out since I would most likely just be giving her half of the winnings.

If I could get away with it, I would take some of the extra cash to get a little sumptin sumptin on the side without having to go through all of that legal stuff.

That's just my 2 cents.

BB, I'm not too sure about that. It's possible the biggest pushes against it have already occured, but I cannot truthfully say it would gain popular acceptance. Just my 1/2 cent.

Maybe if the Pope or the fundamentalist preachers started telling thier sheep that they will go to [censored] for supporting gay rights -- or not standing against it -- then maybe it could be voted down.

I'd sure hate to see Fred Phelps' poison become mainstream.

That sheep comment wasn't necessary, nor accurate IMO.

Yeah Bugs,

His fundamentalist mullah has given him a well-reasoned and insightful argument for supplanting the rule of law with religious beliefs. You're out of line, rabbit....

My home state of Arizona rejected such an amendment last year. I will leave it all of you to categorize whether Arizona is a conservative or liberal state.

Rule of law??? LOL, rule of law??? Oh, that's good stuff - yes, that's exactly what we have here when four jokers in robes tell the people of California that they don't get to define marriage in their state. Rule of law...sheesh.

I assure you I meant no offense. Jesus himself refers to his followers as "sheep." By "sheep" I didn't mean "mindless." Maybe "congregation" would have been a better choice of words.
