Well, my family is. Several times a week. With the outrageously rising prices of gas, food, and just about everything else, whaddya gonna do? Here's my favorite for work lunches:

Cold Spam Sandwich

Ingredients:
2 slices Wonder Bread white (day old ok)
2 slices Spam
1-2 slices American cheese
1 T margarine
Tomato slices*
Lettuce*

Directions:
Give one side of each of the slices of bread a light smear of margarine. Put in Spam and cheese, and top with whatever else you deem proper. *Nice touch in season, add a pickle slice too if or when you can.

Couldn't agree more...fry it up, and put on your favorite bread/roll...add some cheese, and wait for the coronary..

american cheese? no no no! for spam, you need to go for the good stuff. break out the velveeta!!!!

I'm with Bimmer, grosssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

My mother ate quite a bit of it in the 50's - her dad ran off and left them (my grandmother and 4 kids) - not a lot of money to live on, so things like this became a staple - not fun, maybe, but certainly filling and provided some nutritional value. This helped fill in the gaps between the days that they ate ketchup sandwiches - compared to that, the SPAM was quite tasty.

I am happy to say that while I've spent my time living off Ramen noodles, bologna, mac & cheese, and PB...I have yet to resort to Spam. I can only pray our situation never gets so dire.

I've only had it a handful of times, but I don't think it's that bad. If you fry it with eggs, it's awesome!

I think it's more the idea of potted meat - I just can't do it! (Yeah, yeah - I know...nobody needs to point out the fact that I'll eat bologna and hot dogs/sausage compared to potted meat. I can't explain it - it just is.)

I will say the Spam jelly is gross, but just scrape it off, slice and fry, and you are good to go... it is great in mac n cheese too...

A friend of mine had a boyfriend that made spam stir fry that she swears was excellent.

We have a festival here called "SPAMARAMA" every year honoring SPAM.

It has all kinds of booths with dishes made with SPAM, a SPAM Ball where they crown a SPAM Queen, a SPAM toss contest and more.

WE used to eat in on Boy Scout campouts. We would make for breakfast with scrambled eggs in a dutch oven for a one-pot meal. We preferred the SPAM because it needed no refrigeration - cooler space was always at a premium.

Haven't had spam since then.
