My 70+ BIL was on a ladder trimming a tree this last Sunday when the branch broke, knocked the ladder out from under him and he fell after hanging from the broken stub for a little time. He has to have surgery to repair a muscle in his arm around the elbow - ouch!!! Nevermind what a 70+ man was doing on a ladder trimming his neighbors tree, that's my BIL. Prayers that the surgery goes ok and for his healing please. The grandson's are suppose to come visit them for a week or two on the 18th and it would break his heart if this accident messed that up.

He is in my thoughts, corky. A couple of weeks ago our CLO was fixing the chimney on his roof and fell... broke his foot in 4 places... Men!

I second that DQ - my husband's 70+ cousin was up on a high ladder cutting branches off of a tree, fell and broke his foot and ankle. They just don't get better about this stuff, do they?

Surgery is scheduled for the 17th, he ripped a large muscle in his arm. 6 to 8 weeks in a cast and the physical therapy. He is sooooo lucky is was not worse but please continue to mention him in your prayers as he goes thru the surgery and the healing process. He is not the most patient of men

Well, surgery went well but he really did some damage. Huge heavy cast for 8 weeks and physical therapy after that. Stubborn man, insisted on driving to pick up the grandsons at the airport with my sister, even though dr told him not too. Now he is paying for it, fingers swollen and in pain. But all in all, it went well and he is on the mend. Thanks for the prayers.

So, my sister calls on Saturday to tell me that Friday night she fell in the yard and broke two bones in her left wrist. Emergency room dr says will probably require surgery , seeing the same dr that just did my bil's surgery today. Two adults over 70 with major injuries on the left hand/arm - not a household I would want to be in right now. Add her to your prayers please and see if we can blow the black cloud away from their house.

Surgery on Thursday, they have to put a plate in. Broke the major bone in the wrist, must have been a pretty bad break.

Prayers their way Corky. I had a pretty bad wrist fracture several years ago. I ended up with pins and in a cast for several months then months and months of therapy. I hope all goes well.

My BIL's cast is off and he seems to be doing well. Will have physical therapy starting soon but he is one 'tough ole bird' My sister's cast comes off within the week but she is still having a lot of pain so we will have to wait and see how that goes. Just thought I'd share the good news about my bil.
