I have no clue if Excel even has the ability to do this for me. If it can, then I need to know how to do it.

I want to create a worksheet/form on Excel where users can select options from dropdown menus instead of checking a box next to the option (which means I have to have all options listed out on the sheet).

From there, I want to know if I can code each option with a numerical score, so that when a number of options are selected, Excel computes the average of the assigned numerical scores.

Thanks!

You may be able to do this using pivot tables.

You can create dropdown boxes in Excel but I'm not sure about tabulating average scores. But I bet there is a way. When in doubt use Microsoft Help. They give step-by-step directions on everything. I personally have never created a speadsheet with dropdowns -- but I've seen them.

Yes, you can creat drop downs by using defining the data set. You can ascribe a # to the option by referring to a named scale. Then just write a math formula to compute your average.

Blue--

I did my drop-downs ok, but I have no clue how to do this named scale thing you mention. Can you email me directions or point me somewhere online that has instructions?

I tried the Microsoft Excel website but haven't been able to find what I think I am looking for (if I dont' know what to call it, how can I search it? lol!).

Also, anyone know if/how I can allow more than one option to be chosen from a drop-down?

PM your email address and I will send a sample with instructions on how to do more than one item.
