Does the time & date on the safe deposit entry cards have to be punched by a time clock? Can the date & time be handwritten before the customer signs the card?
Thanks

I have never worked with a time stamping device with entry cards....at three banks have only handwritten times.

I know that is not an answer, so use the info how you wish.

Both banks I've worked for have used cards and timestamps / time clocks to note entry/exit times, along with customer signatures, to document safe deposit box access.

I believe that the machine posting is more credible when the courts are involved. I have been somewhat involved in forced entries by law enforcement due to criminal activities by the box owner.

I would think if you have the device available to stamp the time/date-it should be used. However, check with your bank policy/procedure to make sure the personnel are doing the correct procedure.
