Our bank developed a referral form to a 3rd party vendor including a customer authorization and signature line at the bottom. Now some of our bankers say they cannot get customer signatures in some cases and are asking if they can just get an email from the customer stating their request and approval to send the information to the 3rd party vendor (opt-in). In the majority of cases these will be business customers. Is this sufficient or do we still need to get the customer’s signature in all cases?
