Admit that I am stumpped and not sure if or how to do the following. Is there a way to take a 16 (or any size) digit number and have ONLY the last 4 digits appear?

If all you want is the last four digits, you could use a formula such as =RIGHT(A1,4) which would only place the last four digits into the cell in which you have the formula, as shown below.
