Does anyone know where I can find an on-line Record Retention guide that is downloadable? Preferably pdf? I looked on TBA website and just may not know what link..

If you are a state bank, there is no Texas specific record retention. TBA has a book, but I believe it is out-of-date and it just has the federal retention rules. The Banking Department does not issue record retention rules--it relies on the federal rules. I am not sure about areas that you may be involved in outside of banking--you'd have to contact your regulator.

I believe the TBA guide was published in 1997. The guide by the TSLD for thrifts is much older at a published date of 1991. Examiners, when asking for our Records Retention Policy have so far accepted the TBA guide without complaint. I don't think it is available for downloading.

I believe that the TBA may be in the process of producing an updated guide...you may wish to contact TBA and make inquiry...
