Has anyone looked at the statementing cycle impact from the USPS going from 6 business days to 5? Dropping 4 business cycles in a month will put pressure on credit card billing platforms as remaining cycles will have to increase the number of accounts being cycled out. We struggle in February due to the shorter number of business days in the cycle; will be challenging for other months and very challenging for the next February after Senate passes this legistlation.
Are there any thoughts out there on this?

Can you encourage more customer to reaceive their statements elctronically and bypass the USPS? I get my statement electronically so I don't have to worry about it sitting curbside all day in my mailbox. Just a thought

well, the problem is not the mail but when you cut the statement. If today, for instance, you process 50MM statements in 24 business days, in the future you will have to process the same amount in 20 business days. If your billing process takes 10 hrs as it is, then it will be strained even more in the future. that is why February is usually a tough month to run your billin cycles, because the # of business days is smaller

Just continue to process statements as you are and extended your due dates a couple of days. No one says you have to mail the statements on the date they are produced.

The last I read, the beginnig of August, the plan to go to 5 day delivery was NOT a done deal.
