When is this rule effective? My reading of it indicates that the "Interim Final Rule" is effective immediately but we have some disagreement internally. Thanks!

It was effective 5/9/14 but the VA is accepting comments through 6/9/14. After the VA reviews the comments, they will issue a "final" final rule.

Thanks for your input.

I was able to get a "Sr. Loan Specialist" at VA to provide guidance on the effective date. The guidance is "A new circular is in process. Until the circular is released, nothing has changed."

Sorry to revive an old thread! But does anyone know if the "final" final rule went into place on this? I can't find anything that says its not the "Interim final rule" and I can't find a Circular from VA about QM.
