Does anyone see a problem with construction loan fees (doc fees) for Self contracting consumer borrowers being charged a higher fee than
a consumer borrower with a builder contracted to construct the dwelling? Self contracting doc fee is proposed at $500 vs with a contract at $350.

Management claims the additional documentation of a self-contracting construction loan justifies the increase costs. Thanks.

It is only a fair lending issue if it impacts one prohibited basis borrower over another.

So, if ALL self contracting applicants are treated equally then there should be no problem?

If that creates a need for additional documentation, I am not sure why you would have a problem justifying it.
