I have situation-specific question regarding appraisals and property inspection waivers.
Appraisal needed on file and cost is included on the LE. The processor sent the AMC a request for appraisal on "Day 1". On "Day 2", the borrower executes a PIW. We notify the appraisal management company to cancel the appraisal. The appraisal company charges us for an "appraisal trip fee" for the cancellation, which is half the price of the appraisal.
Can this appraisal trip fee be passed along to the borrower with a CoC, or would the lender need to pay that charge? Not sure based on timing if adding this fee is a valid CoC, or if it would be included somehow in the Appraisal fee we represented on the LE. Any help is appreciated!
