We got an email in regards to the pamplet titled "What KY Fair Housing Law Means" yesterday. I hate to admit it but this is not ringing any bells for me. Is this something we are supposed to be giving to all of our real estate customers when a loan is closed???

I'm assuming YES since 104 KAR 1:010 section 4 states "Fair housing law pamplets. A person or entity engaged in real estate-related transactions shall provide to owners and customers at the time of sale, purchase, rental, insuring or financing of real property, a copy of the pamplet...".....but I'm hoping I'm wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

I am right there with you. I know I had never heard of this brochure and I began e-mailing contacts regarding it and they did not know anything about it except from the e-mail they also received. I have e-mailed the Kentucky Human Rights Commission for more information on this. I am hoping it was discontinued and there is a reason for us to no longer giving it. It's just odd. Hopefully this Commission will respond in a somewhat timely manner.

Okay Thanks....I'm just glad I'm not the only one thrown for a loop with this one ....If you don't mind could you let me know what you find out? If I figure anything out I will post it as well.

As far as I understand, the pamphlets just have to be available in the lobby. You can download the brochure, print it out, and set it out with your others.

Did you ever receive a response from the Commission?
