What are other bank's policies regarding the drilling of a safe deposit box if the customer cannot be present. Do you allow it? If so, what type paperwork do you require and how many employees must be present (officers only?)?
Thanks.

I don't know what the policy is at my current bank (I'm in lending), but in my previous life we would not drill a box without the customer present. You don't want them to be able to claim that you have a copy of the key or you have taken an item from their box.

OK
You may have to drill without the customer present in the case of abandonment/escheatment. We have had that happen and had 2 officers present for the drilling and inventory.
