Is there any unique requirement in WA state for retention of paid -off loan files... I am thinking 7 years after pay-off is sufficient. Can you keep these electronically in WA state as well? I found the IRS publication which addresses the need to be able to index & retrieve and am assuming this will work for these records as well.

There is nothing in WA law that would prevent electronic record retention.
