Can anyone that currently offers online account opening for new customers share how they certify TINs/SSNs in the process to satisfy IRS W-9 requirements for interest bearing accounts?

Request the documentation (W8/W9) during your new account opening/CIP review. We send the customer a letter and attempt to call them. If the customer does not provide it, we exit the customer and close their account.
