I was reading through our EEOA Policy and noticed that we list "gender" instead of "sex." The Equal Employment Opportunity Act specifically states "sex" and throughout their website even goes further to define subsets of sex as pregnancy, gender identity and sexual orientation. Any thoughts on whether I should request the policy to be updated to use the term sex instead of gender? I just don't want to overreact and ask for a policy change mid-year if it's inconsequential. Thanks!

I think you are splitting hairs although I know one or two people who could spend 20 minutes telling you how they are completely different and one is offensive etc....

I guess it threw me for a loop more that we didn't just copy the protected classes directly from the reg. I agree with you, RC, but wanted to see what others thought!
