We have received unofficial information that a past due SSCRA-covered customer has been released from service. We researched in the Military Data Center and got a report confirming status. To be safe, we will wait 90-days and then initiate action to repossess vehicle.

Would anything prohibit us from contacting the customer and asking for a voluntary repo?

No, there is no restriction against asking for a voluntary reposession. In fact, even if they were still on active duty, they could waive any of their rights and protections provided under the Act. See Section 107 for the details.
