Would there be a reason a bank should code loans subject to the John Warner, Talent Act so that a report listing those loans could be pulled? Does your bank code/do you recomend coding?

How, when an auditor or the examiners ask you to produce such loans, are you going to do that unless they are coded in some manner?

That is a reason I want to continue coding...Examiners and External Compliance Review Auditors will ask for a list. But that answer will not likely satisfy the employee questioning the procedure.

The code is a red flag, - "loans past due and subject to collection action/foreclosure."

"Oh, that's a military SCRA or Talent applicable loan, that needs some special handling..."

Codes are for more than auditors.
