If active duty member with auto lease refinances residual amount, would they still have SCRA protection including 6% cap?

I think the protections only apply for obligations entered into before activte duty.

SCRA is only for obligations occurred prior to active duty. The refinance would need to comply with MLA.

The above are correct. Once upon a time lenders would entice SCRA loans to refi by offering a small new advance and a month without a payment. When this was discovered the examiners took a very dim view of the practice as it was to get around the 6%.
