Can it possibly be true that we are 1 game away from the World Series? Can it possibly happen that we'll end up with two teams whose futility rival the Cubs and, until last year, the Red Sox? What an amazing two years if that happens--Red Sox last year, then Astros or White Sox this year. If it does happen, maybe the team that loses can split the next two World Series with the Cubs.
GO ASTROS!!!!!!!!!!!! BEAT THE CARDS!!!!! (I am not counting my chickens before they hatch.)

My husband said this morning "Root for the Astros...Bet on the White Sox!"
Who's the fave? Normally in these kind of things they are both "favorites" but 1 is more of a favorite than the other.

Bet on the White Sox
What kind of odds are they giving on whether the Sox will have to use any of their relievers in the World Series?

The Cards could do the impossible and win 3 in a row. And with the Astros history in postseason play, I would amazed, but not shocked.

No, when Pujols' line drive bounced off the centerfielder directly to the rightfielder (preventing him from taking an extra base), I knew that it was not meant to be. Especially when it came after the umpire, the injuries, the 430-foot flyout...
It is just the Astros' year. Can't fight that.

Congrats to the other color Sox-good for you. I am also rooting for the Stros...that would be a great series-some serious pitching matchups.

I think I still have some leftover Sour Grapes Haterade from the other thread.

You are so right! The Stros pitching is good, but I am not sure they can match up with the White Sox. What is the Stros bullpen like?

Hey, I'm disappointed, no doubt; but it's not sour grapes. The Astros have made the most of their opportunities, and the Cards haven't. I wish they had.

I agree. What a great series to what if you love a good pitcher duel!

Stros have THE best closer in the game IMHO. I think that Qualls guy is underrated too. Personally I would take the stros starting 3 over the Sox starting 3 but I would give an edge to the Sox starting lineup. Should be a great series. Unless the redbirds make it somehow.

That would be 163 games for each, one more than scheduled.
But I bet the question meant "against each other" - but they didn't meet.

The Cards get swept again?
Hmm, how many games did Boston win this postseason?

Hey, Jokerman, if the 'Stros make it to the Series, will you be rooting for us?
