Anyone else watching this on NatGeo? I'm recording so I just started, but one of my co-workers is with the local chapter of Best Friends and told me about it. What a riveting story.

Definately worth watching. I had a "mean" pit bull growing up - he might have actually licked me to death Oh wait, maybe his weight at 89 lbs would have crushed me? As kids, we pulled that poor dog's ears, tail, whatever and rode him liked a horse. He was never anything but gentle & honest.

In all honesty, this show really moved me. Denzel made me melt.

Please, don't judge a book by it's cover. Get to know the actual personality of the animal prior to sentencing it to death.

There is no such thing as a BREED that is aggressive. Dogs do what we tell them. They are naturally inclined to submit and follow humans. That doesn't mean no dog can be inclined to be dangerous, and certain breeds have more potential to do damage if they bite, but frankly, I'll trust a pit bull over a schnauzer any day.

A friend of mine used to have a Rotty and a little ankle biter. The little one had to be locked in the back bedroom when guests came over while the Rotty would just lay next to the couch calmly awaiting a pet.

Smaller dogs are more likely to have issues with fear biting. They get intimidated more easily and lash out

Did they take the dogs out west? We felt so bad for the black one that would not even get up to walk in the presence of people.

Wow, I just started watching this before I came in to work this morning, and after the first 30 minutes I feel inspired to leave banking and become a dog trainer!

Saw this over the weekend...great show!

The black pit bull...that would shiver and cower in fear around people...finally made some progress. It's amazing what those trainers can do.

I know amazing things can be done with dogs from personal experience. The first dog I fostered was terrified of people, particularly men. But, it only took me a day to build trust, and less than 3 months to fully rehabilitate her.
