I used to think that Keith Olbermann was the biggest buffoon in media, until I discovered the Rachel Maddow show. Every now and then, when I need a good laugh, I'll turn on her show. Last night, she was blasting the media for "not being honest" when interviewing former VP Cheney, as well as several republican congressman. Said that it is the media's job to fact check what these people say, not just cut and paste their announcements.
I immediately sent an email to her asking if that goes for the current administration and democrats as well, and even suggested she do a story on campaign promises made/broken/not followed up on.
I eagerly await her response as to the date she'll air that.

I wonder if this is what's being taught at journalism school these days, or do journalists even go to journalism school any longer?

I can't stand to watch either of these buffoons. Even when Oobersnob in on NBC football, I can't turn the channel fast enough.

So, MSNBC gives him credit for keeping these promises:
Expand loan programs for small businesses
In fact, current over regulation has actually limited access to funds. Lets continue...
Direct military leaders to end war in Iraq- Really. End it "someday" is ending it. I think MSNBC may have a bias issue, lets continue....
No permanent bases in Iraq - OK, how can he guarantee this when he is out in 3 years. Since we pretty much have permenant bases now.
Send two additional brigades to Afghanistan - Then lets leave. So he kept the promise for no real reason? Lets continue...
Grants to be awarded based on risk - Like to Acorn? Promise broken. But MSNBC says it is kept. Lets continue... Actually we don't really need to. Political fact.com is put out by St. Petersburg Times. Look at the compromises.

That would be a good start...but something with less bias would be better. And of course, I mean for all candidates - although Mr. Obama certainly would be a good one to start with. Nice to see that he has broken, compromised, or stalled more than he has accomplished.

there was no sarcasm on my part...I think the less he lives up to his own hype, the sooner we get someone who can do something in office. When even liberal talking heads are starting to trash him, you know it's bad...
