Does anyone, other than me, have a problem with the Who playing the Super Bowl halftime show? Ever since Pete Townsend pled guilty to paying for and viewing kiddie porn on the interenet, I can't seem to bring myself to watch anything they are participating in.

Townshend was cautioned by the British police in 2003 as part of Operation Ore. Following a news leak that Townshend was among the subjects of the investigation,[27] he publicly stated that on one occasion he had used a credit card to access a website advertising child pornography.[28] Townshend, who had posted essays on his personal website in 2002 as part of his campaign against the widespread availability of child pornography on the internet,[29][30][31][32][33] said that he had entered the site for research purposes and had not downloaded any images.[28][34] A four-month police investigation, including forensic examination of all of his computers, established that Townshend was not in possession of any illegal downloaded images.[35] Instead of pressing charges, the police elected to caution him, stating, "It is not a defence to access these images for research or out of curiosity."[36] In a statement issued by his lawyer, Townshend said, "I accept that I was wrong to access this site, and that by doing so, I broke the law, and I have accepted the caution that the police have given me."[36][37]

Unless they book the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, anyone they get has some skeletons in the closet.

This morning they were saying that he was found guilty and sentenced to 5 years on the registered sex offenders list in Brittan. Also, they said he had stated that he was doing "research" but that it was for a book, that never came out.

I have a problem with The Who playing the Superbowl simply because I can't stand them.

Pulling people out of the ditc...
well, they brought in The Who, but they are changing their name Sunday to The Who Dats!

I've seen the who 3 times in concert, when Kenny Jones was drumming (wasn't old enough when Keith Moon played). I understand that he will not be there having had a falling out a couple of years back, and obviously John Entwhistle won't either, so with only 2 of the 4 original members...

It would be great if they would get up and play some of their best songs, but Who knows what they'll be playing. They did put on one of the best concerts i've ever seen, but that was also back in 1983.

I had forgotten about Townshend's arrest. That brings a whole different dimension of creepy to "Uncle Ernie."

I love the Who so I am excited. There are few greater song openings than the 3 guitar chords that open Baba O'Riley.

I saw them in 1989, and back in 2002 or so (Entwhistle had just died before that tour-may have been 2001). Both shows were great.

I don't know if she is a DD or anything, but I don't think she is particularly flat.

Really? Sounds like she needs some vocal lessons.
