Where the heart is
So husband and I decided to give the movie a chance - if only to pay homage to Jonathan Frid who has a brief cameo.

And you know what?

We liked it!

It wasn't a great movie, but it was entertaining with echoes from the series and something we are definitively going to buy on DVD.

Personal fave: The Blue Whale!

And not to mention: "15 years old and no husband? We must put those birthing hips to good use at once!

I have a feeling I'm going to be "think" using that second sentence a lot.

Also gotta love calling Alice Cooper the ugliest woman he had ever seen. Wonder what he would have thought about Marilyn Manson?

It had some funny parts, but it's a "rental" in my opinion.

Pulling people out of the ditc...
last time I took my family to the movies (4 of us), with popcorn, candy, and cokes, we were well over $100...i'd rather take them to a nice dinner instead...so, very few movies are anything but rental, IMO.

the Avengers was worth the price of a matinee ($4) but the cup of soda was $5....more than the movie....concensions are such a rip off, just sayin'....

I live outside a small town that has a drive-in screen and 1 indoor screen. The indoor theatre matinee is $2.50!! Regular priced tickets are $5.00. We definetely spend more on the popcorn and drink.

The mistake is buying the popcorn, candy and cokes! That, and going during "prime time."

Again - cute movie, and there are some definite nostalgic shout-outs to the old series. I wouldn't be averse to seeing it again, but will probably wait till cable or the DVD.

We can buy reduced price tickets through hub's work and we only pay $6.50. Food on the other hand is ridiculous.

I took my mom out to see this movie for Mother's Day and we both enjoyed it. At first I was unsure of how I was going to like it since my family were huge original Dark Shadows fans to the point that I was named after a character in the movie. And the thought of making it a comedy did not sit well with my brother. However, it really wasn't about the comedy and with the exceptions some small parts at the end that didn't quite work really well, it was overall enjoyable. Some of my friends that later went to see it, didn't feel it was funny enough which conflicted with how it was advertised.

Kid Wonder and I went to see this movie on my birthday at the IMAX theatre. A ginormous Johnny Depp! I was afraid it would be all the slapstick but it really wasn't. Rather kept close to the original story line - more than I was expecting.

Yes, I was named after a witch, Angelique. My brother suggested it first.
