Way, way south.
Kim Jong Un

NORTH KOREAN SUPREME LEADER KIM JONG-UN might now claim to be in control of Sony Studios as the FBI points the digital finger at North Korean hackers for hijacking the company's computers, releasing embarrassing corporate emails and contents of upcoming projects — and forcing Sony to cancel release of its controversial comedy 'The Interview.'

Alamo Drafthouse in Dallas was planning on showing the interview. Now, instead they're gonna show Team America: World Police.

Sony may need a new CEO, or at least somebody new in info security, and someone to write a social media policy. Their password procedures were weak, and you should never put something in an email that you don't want the world to read. I hate to blame the victim, but they left themselves open to this.

This is great. Wish more theaters would do this.

Lost in a regulatory fog
I understand the decision to pull the film, but I think it's very depressing that we now have to kowtow to internet threats. I guess we will no longer need film critics, studios will just have to put out polls to see if they can make a movie or not. cry

Stuck w/Avatar
Well, as long as those polls show remakes of '80s classic TV shows are a bad idea, and remakes of movies that did well a decade ago are a bad idea, and sequels of movies that weren't really all that great to begin with are a bad idea, then I like the polling option.

But back to topic, I wasn't all that interested in seeing this movie before but with all the hubbub I would definitely see it now. Too bad it appears we won't get that opportunity.

OOOOOOklahoma
I probably would have watched it once it came out on DVD because I think Seth Rogen and James Franco are really funny. I think it will leak online and we'll all get our chance.

Could be that it will be playing at the new AMC Loews in Havana.

A CU, Where Regs Don't Apply
It could be a brilliant publicity scheme to hype the movie through the roof. If you don't consume this film, you're letting the terrorists win! (I don't at all believe that to be the case though)

How many more times will Sony get hacked before they figure out how to apply basic security concepts?

Could be that they did not know the "rules of engagement" or that the film was in "Jeopardy"

Now there is a call that this is a national security issue that need to be addressed (whatever that means).

Let us pretend that Sony Pictures (the part than makes bad movies and not the electronics part that makes good products) was a bank what do you think would happen.

EEOC fines in the billions
Additional Regulatory fines penalties.
External review costing millions.
Hollywood types picketing and blasting the company.
Minority boycotts
Class action lawsuits from other "Minimally talented spoiled brats"
