McDonalds: The food is [censored], they manipulate parents by manipulating children, and they habitually ignore people waiting at the counter while talking to each other (Do that at Chick Fil A and you would be gone.)

Best Buy: What right do the prepubescent children who work there have to be so smug?

Verizon: The wait, the incomprehensible "plans," the fact that the next employee you talk to will completely disavow what the last one said, [too many more to list]

Somewhere in the middle
Suddenlink Cable: In our area we have two 3 choices for TV; Suddenlink (cable) Dish or Direct Satelite, or antenna (No tv). Because of this we have no leverage against "Suddenlink, your disconnect".

They offer terrible cable channel choices,
3 internet options, Slow, Slower and Slowest
They raise the price every year, since they know your only other choice is Dishappointing Dish.

Oh I have a list. Mostly due to very poor customer service.

So Cal
TV and internet providers are the worst. They constantly increase rates and whenever you call them, you wait forever, get passed along to another person who cannot help you and frequently get disconnected and have to start over. They make it next to impossible to resolve an issue hoping you'll just give up after hours of time spent and wasted. Of course, their sales department always has someone available, is open 24/7, and is willing to call you without you even having to ask!

Looking for my sanity
Safeway (grocery store).

Their incessant harassment to get me to donate to their latest charity
They're always out of the one thing I need there
The absent look in their eyes when I tell them they didn't have what I want
The expired milk
The expired frozen food

I could go on.

They don't provide fast-food, yet.

I try my best to not contact LaserPro support. I don't doubt for a second that the Indian agents are great folks, working very hard, but they are not helpful.

The absolute worst, no question, no other company even comes close in any way, shape, or form, is Comcast, period.

Chili's and other chain restaurants of that ilk.

The din is unbearable.

Who in the world ever determined that hard dining room surfaces coupled with loud music and louder dining patrons, all competing with the loud music, makes for a pleasant dining experience? LIfe's too short to spend the dining dollars in any such place.

AMEN to the dining room music. Who the [censored] ever thought that was a great idea!?

I'm all for a little soft acoustic if accompanied by a neat bourbon, medium rare steak, and copious wood-paneled walls. But I don't need no Katy Perry while I'm dining.

Pretty much anything that is a chain, regardless of the product sold, is best to be avoided if possible. Local owned and operated generally results in better service, better knowledge of product, although you might pay a little more.

Not sure I could eat a steak with Katy Perry. I despise glitter based on principal alone, let alone it being in my food.

Very much the same here. We have only 1 cable provider, Dish, Direct TV, or none. I've had Dish (and won't soon make that mistake again). The cable is terrible and the InterNOT is worse.

United Healthcare.......though I don't have much of a choice. frown

Representatives don't know how to do anything but read their script. Their claims department denies claims they issued pre-authorizations for, then they tell you to appeal said denied claims even though they can clearly see the pre-authorization letters they mailed you 4 months ago stating they would pay the claims to begin with.....

I hate insurance......

Obamacare - An old coworker has been trying to work with them for a couple years now and it's been an unmitigated disaster. Not political, just stating facts.

I think insurance companies have been sticking it to us long before universal health care reform. It's just now they have something tangible to point to as justification. frown

a wise person told me that if you have a claim denied that you are to ask for the credentials of the physician that made the determination to deny - apparently under ACA it now requires a physician to review and deny...and since most claims are denied by clerical staff because people don't know this, it is never challenged, hence they don't overturn.

Century Link- Internet/phone. Worst customer service repeatedly ! and when you call in they "accidentally" hang up on you every freaking time. They only give generic 1st names, so of course, you have no idea who to ask for when you call back each time.

Agreed 100%. We don't have Chili's though. We have Applebee's.
