a merger of equals means that someone always comes out as the top group (more than likely look at the new bank name when done), and they will quite frequently remind you that it was a merger of equals as they continue to tell you what to do...

Yes, part of Suntrust board and management will remain and part of BB&T, Although suntrust Stockholders will only own about 43% of the merged bank. It will have a new name as will everything named Suntrust in Atlanta.

And the new headquarters will remain in NC.

We received the information in the mail a few months ago. The only intimation at a name is "The Premier Financial Institution." Unsure if that is the name going forward or a placeholder.
