Anyone know how to merge this new profile with my old one? I left the CU world 4.5 years ago and now I am back !!!!! I can see some of my older posts in threads and it let me sign back up with the same screen name but no way I would be able to recall my old user name and password. I assume it would have been my former work email but no clue on the password - I am too neurotic to have the other one floating in the past and not tied to me UGH HEEEEEELP

Same thing happened to me. I had no luck with repeated asks for help with my account. I ended up just starting a new account and have had no luck since. If you find something out please let me know.

PatsGirl74 and SteveDave -- I am notifying our tech wonks of this thread and one of us (the "wonk" or I) will respond. It may be a few days.

I was able to dig up PATSGirl74's old login name, but not her password, and sent her a private message. I have sent our wonks an email to see if they can shed light on your enigma.

Pulling people out of the ditc...
honestly, can't you guys just lift up the keyboard to find your user names and passwords? that is what i did when changing banks and then going back to the original 3 years later. everything was still in place!

OK
Probably a silly question....but is there not the "forgot password/reset your password" function?

I try so hard to not do the keyboard trick hahahaha but it works.

There is a forgot password button. When I set up my account I did not have the foresight to put in a personal email. Then when I forgot password it was emailed to my old work. It is my fault I do not have access to my old account.

I email myself my usernames and passwords. With more and more and more sites and apps that I have to use, that's the only way I know to keep up with them!

Burkemi, that puts you a significant risk if your email account is compromised (not that hard to do). I suggest using one of the commercially available password management software programs available. There are a number of good ones that are much more secure than your email.

You are here
It would be more cost effective if we just sold our passwords and user ID on the dark web.
It will get out there anyway so why not make some cash off of it? wink

Any recommendations on a good company?

My CU actually uses LastPass across the board for all employees. It is AWESOME. It prefills user name and password for most sites. And if you do change your password, it has a little prompt that comes up and says "Would you like to update your password?" Click yes and it's saved for next time.

Full disclosure: I am NOT a tech expert and my recommendation is based on ease of use. But I do trust our IT Security team and trust that this was fully vetted and deemed safe before rolling out. smile

I’ve been using Last Pass for many years on the recommendation of an IT security consultant and several in law enforcement. The governments protect their work computers, but personally, all (again on recommendation of their IT department) used Last Pass. One neat thing, if you get a spoofing email, if you click on the link, it will not populate the field with user or password, since Last Pass matches to an exact web address.

I have heard very good things about LastPass, 1Password, and Dashlane. I have personally used SplashID and have not had issues with it.

I now use LastPass. The new institution IT recommended it so I do not run into these types of situations again. It is awesome for sure.
