here in the lovely city of New Orleans, we are currently 17 inches below our yearly rainfall...Mother Nature, in her infinite wisdom, appears to be trying to make that entire deficit up today. We have had 2 inches of rain since midnight, and it doesn't look like it is going to stop any time soon. Yahoo!!!

It got really cold here last night. When I left for work this morning my tulips were covered with frost. The weather has been strange lately. Are there still people out there that don't believe in global warming?
yes

Happy, I know you don't really like me but if you want to send the rain my way, please feel free to do so. We had a over a million acres burn up near my hometown in the Texas panhandle about two months ago. Needless to say, we will take all the rain we can get!

I was watching a show a while back on Discovery Channel, the scientists were saying that the last Ice Age is really the current Ice Age and that global warming is really a natural progression of climate change caused by the recession of the Age and not by anything humanly attributable. It is only because we are here trying to rationalize it now that we are calling it global warming instead of just "the weather".
BTW it was 90 degrees here monday and 50 yesterday. just crazy.

We talked about this very thing in one of my Geology classes in college. I found it to be an interesting theory. But this is the first time in 6 years that I have heard the theory repeated - I thought I'd imagined that lecture .

nope, it really happened. I wish sometimes that science wasn't so dry. then people would pay more attention I think. That's why Discovery Channel's programming is so good, they like to "liven" up the science I guess.

Global Warming
did this article even discuss the possibility that what whodunit/j-z/xodus said could be true? (i didn't read the whole thing)the earth works in cycles on a scale not easily grasped in our common experience.

here in Arkansas we've been getting a little rain but we could really use more.. there's a little lake behind our branch and the thing is really low... poor fishies are probably huddled together praying for dear life.

It was good for me to read through this and see that not everyone has the same "plight" we do. I'm in CA and we would give anything for the rain to GO AWAY! Until this week we had not had more than two consecutive days without significant rain yet this year. We were starting to get depressed because we never saw the sun.
