Just answer the ones you want to answer or just the team questions. Or better yet, just insert a Cubs or Astros player for each answer that requires a player.

Now if I did this, then all of my predictions would be wrong.

I was talking with a buddy this morning about who the leading MVP candidates are and it reminded me of this thread. Not that many of them are huge reaches but I think I am doing OK with these so far. A couple of them (Reitsma, Peavy and Helton) are terrible. So how is everyone else doing with their preseason predictions (whether you made them here or not)?

I am still against Ortiz winning the MVP. He is a DH on a team that won't make the playoffs. If you give it to Ortiz you have to give it to the guy from the phillies.

I agree - to win the MVP as a DH, you ought to have to be at least twice as good a hitter as whoever finishes second.

Even though I predicted Ortiz winning the MVP you are preaching to the choir. I would not vote for him, either. I just thought that there might be a sentiment that he was so close last year that if it is close again this year some voters may (incorrectly IMO) take into account his two-year body of work. I think this award is no where near settled yet. If a White Sox player (Dye or Thome) carries his team in, if Vlad carries the Angels in or Manny could even still put up better overall numbers than Ortiz. What if A-Rod hits a dozen HR in September? I think there are still 10 guys who could make a push for the award. That's the fun of making predictions, I guess.
